The Trust has always taken a lead in initiating programs that benefit the local community. Some of them are:
Shri Kanubhai Mehta Vidya Vikas Kendra:
A rural education program with Sunday classes, a mobile laboratory, a mobile library, scholarships, science fairs, and Gujarati language enhancement programs and competitions.
Shri Kanubhai Mehta Scholarship Fund:
Awarded to the students of Banaskantha district studying in professional courses such as medicine, engineering, pharmacy, veterinary science, rural studies, agriculture, management etc.
Shri M. Z. Mehta Vidyavistar Vyakhyanmala:
This vyakhyanmala is an annual lecture series that has been ongoing for more than 27 years. Every year four to five guest speakers are invited from various strata of life from all over India and sometimes abroad. The dignitaries invited to deliver the lectures have marveled at the thirst for knowledge displayed by the people of Palanpur, who fill up the lecture hall well ahead of time.
Shashivan:
This is an attempt by the Trust to restore the city to its original identity of ‘The City of Flowers’. A very old garden named ‘Jahan Ara Baug’ which had turned barren was leased by the trust for 25 years and has been developed into a beautifully landscaped public park– ‘Shashivan – Jahan Ara Baug’.

The Palanpuri Jains, many of them settled in far-off destinations, have still managed to remain a close-knit community. The website, palanpuronline.com, is another illustration of their efforts to always reach out to one another and their homeland. Its appeal is not limited to any particular community since it also serves as a miniature travel guide; discussing and displaying the places of historical and religious significance to the visitor.
Smt. Sushilaben Dalpatbhai Parikh Museum and Art Gallery:
This is the Trust’s effort to preserve the culture and history of Palanpur. The museum will house and display among many other aspects, the history, geography, folklore, flora and fauna, performing arts and traditions, architecture, life style, industries. The Taleybaug building is being transformed into a museum.
Shri Bagmal Laxmichand Parikh Central Library:
The thirst of knowledge of the people of Palanpur will be satisfied by this unique library. A spacious building with ultra-modern facilities will make it a luxury for the lovers of reading.
Shri Miten Vijay Mehta Centre for Professional Courses:
A Centre to train candidates for public service competitive examinations like GPSC, UPSC, BSRB, RRB etc., thereby increasing job opportunities for them.
