One of the greatest strength of Vidyamandir is the Association of Parents which is very actively involved in the development of the students. Though active since 1956 A. D., it was formally established in the year 1975 A. D. Membership of Shivam is compulsory for all the parents.

The Shivam of various schools have been given names like –Sneh Shivam (Balmandirs), Killol Shivam (Std. 1 to 4), Vinay Shivam (Std.5 to 7), Vidya Shivam (Std.8 to 12), Setu Shivam (Std. 5 to 12, Eng. Med. Section), Mamta Shivam (all institutes of Mamtamandir).

The Executive Committee of Shivam meets on the fixed Saturday of every month and discusses about various Academic and Non – Academic issues related to their Institute. There is a representative member from the parents of each class, so the problems, issues of each class are brought to the notice of Shivam. The Principal of the respective Institute as well as a representative of the Trust also attend the meeting. The Agenda of the meeting is sent in advance and the minutes of the meeting are recorded. The minutes are also sent to the Director as well as to the Mumbai office of the Trust. Any financial transaction from the Shivam Fund is done with the prior approval of the Shivam Executive Committee. They also discuss about the planning of various programmes.


Shivam Executive Committee is comprised of various sub-committees like health, tours and picnics, cultural activities, sports, propaganda and extension etc. which organize different activities.

Shivam takes the leading role in the planning and implementation of various co-curricular activities like Rangotsava, Celebration of various festivals, Sports Days/Weeks, Cultural Weeks, Parents – teachers Days, Picnics of Parents, Medical Check – ups, Overnight stay Camps, Career Counselling programmes etc. It also felicitates the toppers of each class as well as the winners of different competitions held throughout the year.
